Ireland 7/1 to Win 2026 Six Nations Championship

Ireland 7/1 to Win 2026 Six Nations Championship
Ireland were Six Nations champions in 2023 and 2024, although the bookmakers take a dim view of their chances when it comes to the 2026 renewal. Andy Farrell remains in charge of a team who have a strong recent track record in the competition, although odds of 7/1 means that the boys in green are the distant third favourites to win the title.
Those odds mean Ireland have an implied probability of being successful this time around. It’s France who are odds-on favourites to follow up their 2025 success with another triumph and it’s easy to see why Les Bleus are market leaders. Twelve months ago, four victories enabled them to finish top of the pile and that included a 42-27 win in Dublin.
Ireland Set for Tough Six Nations Opener Against French
It couldn’t be a more difficult start for Ireland in their quest to win the Six Nations title in 2026. A Thursday night trip to the French capital is a daunting one, with the Stade de France likely to be in full voice and expecting a win for Fabien Galthie’s team. The bookies have Les Bleus as overwhelming favourites to kick off with a victory.
To give you an idea of how strongly they are favourites, the Six Nations betting sites set the handicap line at 13.5 points. That means that you can back Ireland +13.5 at odds of 1.90 if you think Farrell’s men will either win, draw or lose the game by thirteen points or less.
However, the fact that France obliged with a fifteen-point margin of victory at the Aviva Stadium last season means that some will instead want to go for the Gallic side to cover the line, with this being a free-scoring team who can currently lay claim to being the best in the world.
Ireland 7/2 to Win Triple Crown This Season
Even if Ireland lose their opening match of the 2026 Six Nations Championship, all is not lost. They can still win the Triple Crown and much will come down to their third game of the campaign. This takes place at Twickenham Stadium against an improving England side who were the only side to defeat France in last year’s tournament when obliging by the narrowest of victories.
Steve Borthwick has survived plenty of pelters after some difficult moments for the Red Rose, although the English are odds-on favourites for Triple Crown success. The bookies make them a 1.80 chance to land the spoils compared to Ireland’s price of 4.50. It’s very much a two-horse race when it comes to this accolade seeing as Scotland and Wales surely don’t have the quality to beat the other Home Nations.
Dan Sheehan Favourite to Score Most Tries for Ireland
When you sign up with the various bookies, there are a list of free bets that can be enjoyed and you can use them for the Six Nations markets. There are plenty of outright options available including the player who will score the most tries for each country. As far as Ireland are concerned, the bookies have installed Dan Sheehan as the strong favourite.
The hooker has scored seventeen international tries already during his career, with two of them coming last summer for the British & Irish Lions. Previously to that, he enjoyed five tries during the 2025 Six Nations Championship, with three coming against Italy. The hat-trick was banked after notching against England and France.
Indeed, Sheehan looks a backable price to once again rack up the most tries for this competitive Ireland side, especially as there are several contenders who are on the sidelines with injury. Tommy O’Brien could be his biggest rival to the top tryscorer in a green shirt, with James Lowe and Jacob Stockdale available at similar prices.
Ireland 6.50 to be Top Point-Scoring Nation
Ireland only registered a modest 135 across their five games played in last season’s tournament and they’ll hope to be more offensive this time around. Although they were able to rack up 27 points in both home games against France and England, they made heavy weather of a 22-17 success in Rome, with 32-18 and 27-18 away wins coming against Scotland and Wales respectively.
By comparison, France were bulldozers in some of their matches including a scintillating 73-24 success in Italy. Les Bleus racked up a total of 218 points in total and they’re once again strong favourites to score the most this time around. Some will regard the 1.57 as a shoo-in, with Ireland priced at 6.50 by comparison. We’ll be able to see whether these prices are accurate once the first round of games are played.
Sheehan, Doris and Gibson-Park Among Player of Tournament Favourites
It’s always interesting to speculate on which player will be Player of the Championship, with the bookies creating a market where you can bet on the leading contenders. It’s no surprise to find that Antoine Dupont is the short-priced favourite. The Frenchman will lead his team into battle and he has won this accolade on three different occasions.
However, the Les Bleus skipper has missed out in the past couple of seasons and perhaps Dan Sheehan has a chance of winning this individual award. His performances for the Lions indicate that this is a world-class talent, while Caelan Doris is also expected to challenge and be included in the Six Nations Team of the Championship.
The number 8 has won several individual awards and that includes being in the World Rugby Men’s 15s Dream Team of the Year in 2023 and 2024. He’s also achieved a huge amount in a Leinster shirt including five Pro14 titles, with the 27-year-old continuing to be a vital cog in the Irish team.
Jamison Gibson-Park is the other player who could feature among the leading contenders to be recognised as the tournament’s outstanding individual talent. The New Zealand-born 33-year-old has shone in the scrum-half position and recently made his Lions debut as part of their successful tour of Australia.
